Humanitarian Assistance
Australia is committed to supporting Côte d’Ivoire rebuild after the political crisis of 2010-11. In 2011 the Australian Government provided AUD5 million in humanitarian funding, to provide immediate support to both internal refugees and those who had fled Côte d’Ivoire.
Australian Investment
Two Australian mining companies are present in Côte d’Ivoire. These are Newcrest, operating in south-central Côte d’Ivoire and Perseus, which is exploring for gold in north-western Côte d’Ivoire, near the border with Mali.
